Yamaha have taken their time in crafting the new TransAcoustic series of guitars, using inventive technology to enhance the overall sound output wherever you play. We can all appreciate how wonderful an acoustic guitar sounds when played in a hall or perhaps a room that improves the sound qualities of an instrument in its natural form. Yamaha have drawn influence from this in the form of the TransAcoustic LS-TA concert-style guitar which projects with volume and clarity in just about any room, indoors or outdoors.
L-SERIES WITH ACTUATOR
Yamaha's L-series consists of all-solid acoustic guitars, and the LS-TA also features modified non-scalloped bracing beneath the soundboard which helps produce a well-balanced range of tones, from the typical bright L-series timbre but with a strong, improved low-end.
The body top is made of solid Engelmann spruce which is then put through the rigorous A.R.E. treatment process. This procedure is what gives the LS-TA that cool, vintage acoustic tone from the moment you play it, while it simultaneously causes the wood to improve over time. The back and sides are made from solid rosewood to partner the spruce top for a durable build and full-bodied timbre.
A new and compelling appointment in this Yamaha acoustic guitar is that it is fitted with an inner Actuator just at the back. This device has also been used in some of Yamaha's acoustic pianos as it is designed to react to the vibrations of the strings and transmit the sound up through the body and out into the air. So whether you play inside or out, with or without an amp, you will hear its incredible tone.
Yamaha have fitted a 5-ply mahogany and rosewood neck with a double-action adjustable rod. The use of 5-ply wood in the neck gives it an enduring build and counteracts the danger of it becoming warped.
A sleek ebony fingerboard pairs the neck and provides a comfortable, effortless playing surface. With 20 frets at your service, rolled fingerboard edges and a straight neck taper, your playing ability will certainly be enhanced.
The LA-TS is equipped with a SYSTEM70 TransAcoustic+ Piezo pickup so you can plug the guitar into an amplifier for an electro acoustic output. The preamp works with the Actuator in responding to the vibration of the strings, further boosting the sound and resonance of the guitar.
With just three simple controls you can have a choice of Reverb (room / hall variations), Chorus and Line Out Volume.
HARDWARE AND FINISH
A convenient feature of the LS-TA is its newly designed battery box which sits inside the end pin jack. Yamaha designed the preamp control buttons and battery box in a way that reduces the amount of holes drilled into the guitar during its construction, which consequently prevents losing out on any of its vital acoustic tones.
For better intonation and sustain, an ebony bridge holds a firm connection between the body and strings of the guitar. The headstock is fitted with die-cast gold tuners maintain accurate tuning throughout.
The Yamaha TransAcoustic LS-TA is a remarkable concert-style guitar which will empower acoustic guitar players all over and provide hours and hours of sonic enjoyment.
